About Us

A barrier-island service club with a simple purpose: strengthen our community.

The Exchange Club of Kiawah-Seabrook is a volunteer-driven service organization founded in 1982. We support Johns Island and Wadmalaw Island through hands-on service, strategic giving, and community partnerships—while also honoring those who have served our country. We’re proud to be part of the National Exchange Club network—often called “America’s Service Club”—with a long tradition of neighbors helping neighbors.

Our Mission

Our mission is carried out through four core areas of service: Child Abuse Prevention, Americanism, Community Service, and Youth Programs. These focus areas shape how we serve, where we give, and how we support the people and organizations making a difference in our community.

Board and Committees

The club is led by a Board of Directors that provides oversight, direction, and stewardship to help ensure we remain focused on our mission and continue delivering meaningful local impact. Board leadership works alongside dedicated members to guide priorities, support responsible decision-making, and strengthen the club’s role in the community.

Much of the club’s work happens through member-led committees. These committees help organize events, support fundraising, review grants and scholarships, strengthen communications, and carry out projects tied to our mission. Committee involvement gives members a direct way to contribute their time, talents, and ideas while helping turn service into action.

Through fellowship, volunteerism, and charitable support, the Exchange Club of Kiawah-Seabrook brings people together to make a lasting difference. We are proud to serve our community and invest in efforts that help build a stronger future for Johns Island, Wadmalaw Island, Kiawah, and Seabrook.

Handbook

The Exchange Club Handbook is a trusted community resource for residents of Kiawah Island, Kiawah River Estates, Kiawah River, Seabrook Island, and Cassique. Serving as a local Yellow Pages for our area, it provides an easy way for residents to stay connected through directory listings and other helpful community information. To help us keep the handbook accurate and up to date, please submit any additions, changes, or corrections for inclusion in the next edition.

If you’re looking for a way to make a tangible difference close to home, we’d love to meet you. We typically gather twice a month for dinner and a speaker program, and members also participate in service committees that put our mission into action.
